Nutty Homemade Granola

December 27, 2011

Granola is delicious and nutritious for breakfast that will keep you going for couple of hours. And it is very easy to make! Here is my version, but you can create your own.

3 cups oats

3 tablespoon cocoa powder

1 cup walnuts

1/2 cup almonds

2 tablespoon brown cane sugar or use stevia (less amount)

3 tablespoon honey

50 g butter

50 ml water

Before putting the granola into the oven

Put the honey, sugar, butter and water into a saucepan and melt them together. Combine the oats, with the cocoa powder and nuts and pour the honey mixture on top of it. Spread it on a tray wrapped with baking sheet and put it into the preheated oven at 200 Celsius for about 20 minutes, or until nicely toasted. At half time (10 minutes) turn the granola with a large spatula. After it has cooled down place it in glass containers. You can add dried fruits to it too.
