In the following series I am going to describe you the 12 basic asanas that we practice in the Sivananda style yoga and that benefit our health the most. The asanas are in the following order:
- Headstand
- Shoulderstand
- Plough
- Fish
- Seated forward bend
- Cobra
- Locust
- Bow
- Half spinal twist
- Crow
- Standing forward bend
- Triangle
And here are the descriptions:
- The Crow – Kakasana
- Twist Yourself – The Half Spinal Twist
- The Cobra – Bhujangasana
- Dhanurasan – The Bow
- Salabhasan – The Locust
- Bhujangasan – The Cobra
- PASCHIMOTHANASAN – The Head-Knee Pose
- MATSYASAN – The Fish
- HALASANA – THE PLOUGH
- Sarvangasana – Shoulderstand
- Basic Asanas – SIRSASANA – HEADSTAND
