Eating in Dubai: Comptoir 102 + Ripe Market

I love outdoors, so now that the weather has cooled down, I try to spend as much time outside as possible. If you are visiting or planning a trip to Dubai, the best time to come is between October and April.

Last Friday we had some fun outdoors, checking out the new Foodie Friday Market at SafaPark. Apart from the organic fruits and veggies, there were few vendors that shined for me:

• a lovely passionate lady from Latvia selling colourful natural wooden toys. Perfect to bring your children back from the high tech present to your childhood. I definitely remember playing with these kind of toys. Check their website where you can irder online too: http://www.harmonyhousetoys.com/
• a gentleman was selling handmade aprons, very cute ones, for mini people 🙂
• and of course my favorite oils and vinegars from Crescendo. I’ve expanded my stock with some creamy fig vinegar and some spices. Really yumm!

After the market, as we got hungry I had a plan to visit a fairly new restaurant on Jumeirah road, the Comptoir 102. This little place with outdoor space as well, sells only organic, gluten free, dairy free dishes. My kind of place! 🙂 They even make their own almond milk, which is fantastic. It’s safe to give everything to your children.
Although my husbands wrap was quite blend in his opinion, I really enjoyed their signature Comptoir salad. I guess I was just hungry for some greens. My daughter’s shake was yummy too. Comptoir is not only a restaurant, but also a shop, selling mainly interior decorating stuff, furniture, shoes and jewellery too.

As the sun sets early these days, we headed to the beach nearby. I haven’t been this part of the beach before, which has pretty impressive views on the Dubai skyline.
